INRIX recently published its 2015 Traffic Scorecard. This analyses the levels of traffic congestion in more than 100 cities worldwide. UK findings show that London drivers wasted around 101 hours last year in gridlock conditions; more than 11 working days!

INRIX found that congestion was up slightly in 11 of 18 UK metropolitan areas compared to the previous year, with the average UK driver losing 30 hours in traffic. An article on Fleet News suggested reasons for increasing levels of congestion such as: growth of the UK economy, decreasing levels of unemployment and rising UK population. Waiting in traffic has obvious negative implications for businesses. According to a study by INRIX and Cebr between 2013 and 2030, the total cost of congestion to the UK economy is estimated at a shocking £307 billion.

With increasing cost in mind, businesses are looking to technology to help. Here at ABAX, our Triplog technology includes a google integrated ‘Live Traffic’ feature. With this, you can check how congested individual roads are before or during travel, and then use this information to choose an alternative route. One key goal of ABAX is to make your fleet more efficient; with Live Traffic you have immediate control.
