"Let me set the scene. A room full of people, all on the phone, talking to other businesses about our products and services. This is obviously telesales, right?
WRONG! A job in booking isn't about selling a product over the phone. ABAX offer businesses a solution via a consultative approach. We aim to book an appointment for an ABAX consultant to sit down with key decision makers of a business and offer them a professional evaluation of their working methods.
The most important characteristic for a booker to have is determination. The more calls you make, the more appointments you can book. The result - as much money as you want to earn! Yes, it is hard work. Yes, you need to do your research well. Yes, you need to learn how to bounce back from rejection. But those who can, really prosper at ABAX!
Structure is really important for the booking role. You cannot expect to turn up, pick up the phone and go! We turn up well prepared for the day. We do what we say we are going to do. We do it when we said that we would. Work smarter, not harder - or do both and earn more commission!
This doesn't just apply to work though. Downtime is important. We take breaks and we take them regularly. Pool, table tennis, darts and the fresh country air all help people relax and refocus.
As we grow, it is important that we maintain control as we do today. It is likely that we will split teams into regions based on keys areas of the country. This will allow people to become familiar and build up a big client base in the areas they are working on. As the size of the operation increases, it is also likely that roles within the booking team will further diversify."
