ABAX acquires Dutch technology company to strengthen European growth plans

ABAX, a leading supplier of fleet management technology, has taken its next step into Europe with the acquisition of Dutch company Trevler.
ABAX acquires Trevler

The Norwegian-owned company, which established in the UK in 2012, is a market leader in developing products to support businesses and individuals who use a vehicle at work. These products include fleet management software, mileage capture technology and equipment monitoring devices.

The purchase of Trevler, a specialist in the field of fleet management in the Netherlands, reinforces ABAX’s ambition to strengthen its presence in Europe.

With a turnover of £23.5 million in 2014, ABAX employs around 200 people at it offices in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and the UK.

ABAX Chief Executive Peter Quinsgard said: "By attracting Trevler we have every confidence to grow into the biggest provider of vehicle solutions in the Netherlands. We are looking to rival companies like TomTom, and with the acquisition of Trevler we now own more than a quarter of the Dutch market. We look forward to the new journey for ABAX in the Netherlands."

The UK office is going from strength to strength with the number of employees at its Peterborough base doubling since the start of the year.

ABAX UK Managing Director Frank Ystenes said: "ABAX has always been a forward thinking, dynamic company. Our presence in the Dutch market will help support ABAX’s growth ambitions in the UK which has recently seen us secure a large contract with an engineering company."

ABAX is hosting a free seminar for businesses who want to learn more about the benefit tax laws that surround running an efficient fleet operation in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, on Tuesday 9 June. For further information email Chris Miller at cmi@abax.co.uk
